Episode 53: Zachary Levi, Inside of You Podcast

“I’ve now gotten to the other side of what that darkness that wanted to kill me was doing, and I was able to pierce through with love of friends and family, and the tools that I learned in all that therapy (…) and then from the other side of the darkness be able to look back and go, ‘oh yeah, shit yeah, all that happened, (…) and I am grateful for all that stuff that happened that lead me to here.” – Zachary Levi

This podcast was recommended by our founder, Deborah Lee Smith, and she mentions it in her Instagram story about feeling hopeless and purposeless.

“Podcasts, and very specifically Zachary Levi’s interview on “Inside of Me” knocked me out of that dark hole. He described a point in his life where he had also lost his purpose for living and what he did to climb out. I listened to him tell his story as I hiked with my dog in the Los Angeles hills and as I listened I felt less alone and less hopeless than I had felt in a long time.”

This podcast episode explores depression and the deep impact of our childhood trauma on our present. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to climb out of a dark hole and consider that no matter who we are, no matter where we come from or how successful we currently are, we are all struggling and it is ok to ask for help.

Hi there! I'm an actor, producer, and writer who is devoted to storytelling and mental health awareness. After struggling through my own mental health, I found that non-traditional resources, like the ones we explore on More Than You See, helped me immensely get through my dark times. Thus, this website and podcast were born! I look forward to helping you gain agency over your mental health journey as you build your own toolkit of resources, tips, and ideas. Because you never know what might help pull you out of the darkness, and we are all More Than You See.
